The church was as dimly lit as possible. The Lighting of the 'Holy Fire' represents Jesus coming to back to life and coming forth from the grave, thus overcoming death. Each person received a small candle upon entrance to the church. The fire from the Easter Candle was passed to every person, representing Jesus Christ's passing of His grace and His life to all people.
